ABOUT ABOUT

Started in 1984, The Canterbury Concert Series marks the end of its 40th Season this spring. Help us celebrate a remarkable achievement as we feature "a little bit of everything" in this gala performance.

In keeping with our history, we will feature the mighty 80-rank pipe organ at St. Luke's, the Canterbury Singers, much-loved audience favorite soprano Michelle Areyzaga, and members of the Rendezvous Arts Orchestra.

One of the pieces on the program will be the Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan Williams. This piece for two string orchestras was composed in 1910 and is voted amongst the top-ten most beloved pieces of classical music in the U.K. to this day.

All our musicians will come together in the grande finale of the concert to perform the haunting and deeply spiritual Hierusalem by Sir George Dyson. Featuring solo soprano, double-choir, orchestra, and organ, this will help us all reflect on four decades of service to the Dixon area.

This concert promises to be the musical event of the decade. Not to be missed!

***Please note that this concert starts at the unusual time of 6pm.
